The Annual March and Rally is designed to raise awareness on gun violence prevention and social justice issues within our community. This is also to brinf the community together.
Our Annual Remembrance Day is a very significant as we honor our loved ones who have been taken from us by violence. We celebrate their lives along with their families by breaking bread and coming together. This invitation is always extended to the community as well.
Circle of Compassion was designed to provide the dedicated support and compassion specifically for the mothers and other family members who have had children and/ or other that have been taken by violence. We offer a safe space, so they are able to grief and express themselves.
Unresolved case forums provide the opportunity for families for victims to work directly with the police department and the community to help bring closure to their loved one's case.
Community Conversation are designed to bring the community together so they can be aware of what is going on their community. It also helps those who live the community understand more about their community.
The educational outreach program and activities is designed to help promote and strengthen our youth's development.
"I’m personally grateful for Mother’s United Against Violence for creating and hosting this Unresolved Case Forum in collaboration with the Hartford Police Dept.’s Homicide Detectives. The important ongoing relationship and communication between the Detectives, Mother’s United Against Violence (MUAV), and the families of victims and/or survivors is critical to our emotional and mental wellbeing. Allowing us to come together at a neutral & convenient location is desperately needed & appreciated. It gives us as families a chance to voice our concerns and questions while getting the latest updates regarding our case(s) by talking with the Detectives who are directly involved with them.
